MARC KAPLAN DC, CCSP
Title: Program Director - Center for Balance, Gait and Fall Prevention
Dr. Kaplan grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended Brooklyn College for his undergraduate degree, and City University of NY, Brooklyn College Graduate Program in Speech Pathology/Audiology. He attended NY Chiropractic College (now, Northeast College of Health Science) earning his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree in 1980. He entered private practice in Brooklyn Heights NY, and Hastings on Hudson, NY for over 30 years. Dr. Kaplan went on to earn his post-graduate certification in Sports Injury and Rehabilitation from the American Chiropractic Association’s Council on Sports Injury and Rehabilitation, earning his CCSP. He was an adjunct assistant professor at NYU, teaching biomechanics of movement and dance injury prevention. He has lectured on the subject of biomechanics and dance injuries and their prevention nationally and internationally.
Dr. Kaplan was also a surgical neurophysiologist for over 8 years, monitoring patients undergoing various orthopedic, neurosurgical and vascular procedures.
Kaplan joined HVRCHC in 2013, setting up the clinic’s “Center for Balance, Gait and Fall Prevention” creating a state of the art Gait Lab. As program director, he has started various evidenced based fall prevention programs, works with other professionals in the clinic to assess issues of mobility, gait and balance. He is the proud father of 2 incredible children and 3 magical grandsons. In his spare time, he loves traveling, hiking, biking, kayaking and reading.
